At the same time, prediction market operators are facing regulatory tussles in the US. State regulators are moving to shut down the firms under gambling laws. The companies say their contracts should be regulated at the federal level as derivatives.

Integration of Genius Sports’ official in-game data with real-time market pricing will allow users to track play-by-play actions alongside dynamic market probabilities, prices and signals.

Giles Thomson, FATF president, said unregulated sectors risk becoming “attractive gateways for fraudsters, professional money launderers and organised criminal networks”.
